Our first night in Copenhagen featured what we expect will be our best dinner on the trip in a ritzy part of the city.
Alek and her husband Bojan, both from Serbia, cooked the best wild salmon we ever had. Boiled potatoes and green beans just as good and a tasty apple cake.
Greg and Sue worked with Alek at their former Whitehall Inn in Camden, Maine, after they had sold the inn to Russ and Rebecca Miller. We have kept in touch, and Alek offered to be our tour guide of the city they adopted earlier this year. And, the tour which we will report on included a visit to the landmark city hall where they were married earlier this year.
The salmon truly was to die for. Regina does not generally like salmon, and she had seconds.
What wonderful hospitality after a very jet-lagged trip, with zero sleep, and then an afternoon in Sweden, before returning to Copenhagen.
The Copenhagen metro system is state-of-the-art and runs so frequently that it was easy for newbies like us to navigate and get to dinner, maybe 8 stops away, on time.
